MODERN BIBLE STUDY GUIDE: AS IT WAS IN THE DAYS OF LOT Topic: Apologetics & The End Times (Part 2) Focus: Understanding Biblical Prophecy Without Fear INTRODUCTION: THE SHIFT IN TRUTH To understand the End Times, we look at the patterns of the past. Last week’s study focused on the “Days of Noah,” a time when people were simply distracted and ignored the truth. However, the “Days of Lot” are different and feel a bit heavier. In Lot’s time, society didn’t just ignore truth; they actively started to redefine it and resist it. A future global system cannot function unless truth becomes unstable first. PART 1: WHEN SIN DEMANDS AGREEMENT In the story of Sodom, the core issue wasn’t just sexual immorality; it was a culture that completely lost its restraint of human appetite. PART 2: THE ILLUSION OF “NORMAL” When God judged Sodom, the city wasn’t falling apart. People were eating, drinking, buying, selling, and building. PART 3: THE DISAPPEARANCE OF PEACE Jesus warned that the last days would be filled with “wars and rumors of wars,” but He also explicitly told us, “See to it that you are not alarmed”. PART 4: SETTING THE STAGE The events happening in the world today are not random; they are conditioning society for what comes next. REFLECTION & DISCUSSION QUESTIONS FINAL ENCOURAGEMENT: PREPARATION, NOT PANIC Whenever we study Biblical prophecy, it is crucial to remember the goal: Prophecy is not given to make you panic; it is given to help you prepare. Before the destruction of Sodom, God literally sent angels to grab Lot by the hand and drag him to safety because God does not want the righteous to perish. The exact same God who saw Sodom drifting sees our world today, and His rescue plan was written in advance. You do not have to be afraid of the future as long as you belong to the One who has already overcome it.
